1. The Divine Message - Message From Poojyashree Shree Amma - The Ultimate Liberator Bestowed By Lord Shri Krishna!

Radhekrishna!

Amma's abhayakarangal

Blessings to one and all in the world.

  Radhekrishna!

Great Mahathmaas believe and follow the principle of Eka Dheivam, Eka Naamam and they do not have any other thought than these. Not to suffice this; they are very innocent. No one can ever understand about their behaviour. Their acts seem to be controversial to what they say. One might feel whether to have faith on them or not, as they are unpredictable. To be happy and contented, one should simply follow their words setting aside all other thoughts. However, they may be, one should not bother about that. When one is thirsty and the water is in good condition, should simply drink it instead of analysing about the water, from where and how it was brought. By doing so, our problems will not be solved. If one keeps analyzing, will only end up in confusion. Just as, it is difficult to conclude whether the content relies on the container or the container relies on the content. Such philosophical thoughts are unwanted, as otherwise would be mere foolishness, if one keeps analyzing the great Mahathmaas.

What everyone needs is the food while in hunger, water while in thirst. When one is blessed to be in the shade of a Guru, should simply obey Him to the core. We have the belief of reaching our destination safely when we board a train, bus or a plane. This ‘belief’, on the driver of the train, a bus, or the pilot of an aeroplane is not being found with a Sathguru. One should accept the teachings of a Guru but we often find discrimination in following the Guru’s words. Words, which are favourable, are accepted while those, which appear to be harsh or unfavourable told for the well-being, are not accepted. The mind should be controlled and unconditionally follow the teachings of a Guru, as it would only be for our welfare. When the Guru advises there will definitely be some reasons behind it. Even if we are ignorant, should be asked with humbleness without any disbelief on the words of Guru. Why does one not heed to the words of a Guru? Henceforth an oath, to follow the words of a Guru has to be taken. Mere words of people for their selfishness are being listened. However, it is the words of a Guru alone, the embodiment of Bhagawaan Himself, should be listened. Therefore, one should have a tight hold on devotion. Radhekrishna!

Kabirdhaasar, a great Mahaan, was leading a family-life without any attachment, had a disciple called Padmanabhar. He was a true disciple, which can be found very rarely. To attain a Sathguru is a real treasure and is not easy. Likewise, to get a Sathsishyan (true disciple) for a Sathguru is also very rare.  Kabirdhaasar was served by the sathsishyan Padmanabhar. How did Kabirdhaasar accept him as a Sathsishyan and how he proved to be a sathsishyan? Padmanabhar too was living an unattached worldly life. He was always yearning for Naamasankeerthanam, Bhagawaan and a Guru. He was in search of the same.  Who taught him to search for all these sacred things?  Such good thoughts arise only due to the continuity of good deeds of previous birth.  Radhekrishna!

Kabir Das

After wandering untiringly, Padmanabhar finally attained the great Mahaan, Kabirdhaasar as his Guru who accepted him for his steadfast devotion, determination and absolute contemplation.  Contentment alone brings a sathsishyan very closer to his Guru. For instance, if a person wins a prize of Rs.One crore in a lottery, he exults in happiness, but becomes unhappy to part with the same for some good cause. Why, when the Bhagawan has showered His grace to possess it, parting with someone also is God’s will. A mother hugs a child lovingly which the child also enjoys. However, the mother cuddles the baby only when she wishes so and not whenever the child needs her loving embraces. The people in the world praise the mother for presenting such an act towards her child while, they forget to express their gratitude to the ultimate God who has only created her and made her to express so. Elaboration of a mother’s activities further is not necessary, as it will certainly land us in a different proposition.

A school teacher does not teach us everything but imparts certain things, which are not known to us, and hence we show interest on the same. However, we should think of God who has created us, given us the brain and the capacity to think and to have different thoughts. How strange it is!  People are not able to understand the Ultimate God and are not able to control the mind.  Padmanabhar had the unconditional faith on God and wandered to get a Guru. It is remarkable when one attains a Guru after persistent wandering.  However, due to the immense grace of a Guru, the soul is bound to get its needs. Thus, Padmanabhar was blessed to become Kabirdhaasar’s sathsishyan.

Padmanabhar used to go to the holy river, Ganges every morning to take his bath. He used to take his bath in one of the pedestals of the riverbank called ‘Padmanabhar-peedam’. A businessman lived in the same place who was a virtuous person. He was very wealthy with noble thoughts. In spite of all these good qualities, he was infected with leprosy.  All such incidents make us understand that, one has to face the remaining deeds of one’s previous birth. As it may seem to us, that some people lead a very happy life in spite of doing only bad things while, some innocent people might be doing only good things throughout their lifetime and yet might be facing only difficulties. These are our opinion about the people. Hence, we cannot assess as to what is a sin and what is sinless or what is good or bad act. Since a person might be given a deep thought of something and later put into a trouble, as it may seem very nice while stealing but once the thief is caught and imprisoned he has to undergo the punishment for the same. At any cost, the result for the good deeds or the bad deeds will not change. Whatever act one performs, has to undergo its effects accordingly. Thus, to keep our mind always in a pure state, we have to do Bhakthi alone at all times. When we do only Bhakthi, it is Bhagawaan’s responsibility to take care of us. HE will take us with HIM forever and we can say boldly, that I am YOUR child and it is YOU who has to fulfil all my needs. Radhekrishna!

Padmanabhar took the ‘ManthrOpadEsham’ from his Guru, Kabirdhasar and continued to do his duties as always that he would perform for the humankind. The businessman, who was a charitable person and who donated whatever he earned as charity was in a very critical condition of the illness that he was undergoing. Although in the beginning, he tolerated it thinking it as God’s proposal, later felt that he could no more bear it and thought of putting an end to his life by drowning himself in the holy river, Ganga to get rid off his difficulties once for all.  It is people’s conclusion that at such hard times, the only solution is death. Definitely not. The leftover karmas are to be experienced in the next birth. Once a disciple came running to an Aazhwar saying, Your Highness! there is a sorrowful news for you. You have been found guilty and punished by the emperor, for which Aazhwar replied instantly, Oh! mere sorrow! I thought that nobody is with me. Now that this sorrow has come to me, I will catch hold of it and live in its company. He did not weep or moan nor did he take up any wrong decision of ending up his life in grief, because he knew the reason behind such an unpleasant incident. Radhekrishna!

The grief-stricken businessman who could no more bear his miserable illness reached the banks of river Ganga , who came to end up his life. In the same pedestal of the riverbank, he met Padmanabhar who came to take his bath. The businessman slowly came closer to the river thinking, what is the use of this life despite doing so much of charity all these days when nothing seems to be right. When Padmanabhar saw him, he went to him and asked, what is the matter?  Why are you sitting here?  As the Mahaans always keep chanting, they can very well distinguish what the ordinary souls are to be conferred upon, and also the way to approach and talk to them at every situation. Since, the businessman was a very gentle person and to stop him doing a wrong act Padmanabhar enquired him with concern, for which the former replied, what is the use in living this life when I am suffering so wretchedly and hence I want to give up my life. Immediately Padmanabhar laughed and said, all you need is, you want to get rid of the illness to live peacefully, isn’t it? The businessman replied affirmatively. Mahaans always do their work alone, without any expectations and they never like to beat their own trumpet. With Gurudhyaanam, immediately Padmanabhar advised the business man to chant Bhagawaan’s naama constantly which is the only relief for all the problems. Radhekrishna!

He then advised him to chant bhagawan’s naamam three times to get rid of all his difficulties and told him to have a bath in the holy Ganges . Listening to this, the people who gathered there ridiculed, saying, he is not able to walk a single step forward while he is told to have bath in the river on his own. Yet they had belief in Padmanabhar’s words. The businessman who was seated on the bank of the river, slowly moved towards the river and entered the river in the same position as he could not walk. The people were very excited to know what would happen next because, they felt that it is not so easy to come out of the river in such a feeble condition, while that of entering the water. He chanted the Lord’s name and had three dips in the holy river. As he got out of the water, to their surprise, the people observed that the seriousness in his hands and legs were completely reduced and he was perfectly fine now. Only then, the people realized the greatness of Padmanabhar and went to inform this to Kabirdhaasar. They narrated the incident to him saying, your disciple Padmanabhar did an amazing performance, which we all saw. He not only stopped him from his death but also completely cured him from the dreadful disease. The people very eagerly asked Kabirdhaasar, would you like to know how it happened and again continued narrating. Your disciple, Padmanabhar, advised the businessman to chant Lord’s name three times and also asked him to dip in the holy Ganges for three times and as a consequence we saw a glow on his body. What a marvellous feat! The people talked in praise of Kabirdhaasar and Padmanabhar saying, there is nothing in this world that you people cannot do. Radhekrishna!

Meanwhile, Padmanabhar came in search of Kabirdhaasar to inform all that had happened, as it is the duty of a disciple to do so. Since, it is the Guru who gave all the knowledge and efficiency to him. As he saw Kabirdhaasar, he prostrated him. Kabirdhaasar laughed at Padmanabhar sarcastically as he got up. With complete humility, Padmanabhar conveyed to Kabirdhaasar, Hey Guruve, today I met a businessman and only with your unconditional grace God saved him from his illness for which Kabirdhaasar replied, everything is fine, but why did you ask him to chant thrice. You could have just asked him to chant once for which the disease would have vanished. What is the reason? Though there was some reason, Padmanabhar with an anxiety replied him humbly that, for the first time of the chanting, he had to recover from his illness. The second chant was to accept the ManthraOpadesham and the Guru unconditionally and finally the third chant was that this knowledge and bhakthi should reach all the people who were encircled by. All the people should realize about a Sathguru and His unconditional concern on every soul. Hence, I advised him to chant thrice. Padmanabhar reiterated, If advised by Mahaans like your Highness, I believe just once is sufficient. I am not so capable and hence advised him to chant thrice. Saying so, he again prostrated Kabirdhaasar. All the people gathered there were wonderstruck at the Guru-Sishya relationship. Adhering to Padmanabhar’s words all the people in that place until today are chanting the Lord’s name and the torrential bhakthi that bloomed at that period succeeded as expected is a life history of Kabirdhaasar. These are history and the truth and not mere story. To know and realize rapidly more about the truth alone, we always advise you to attend more and more sathsangams.

Radhekrishna, Radhekrishna, Radhekrishna, Radhekrishna, Radhekrishna, Radhekrishna.

Radhekrishna.......

Poojyashri Shri Amma

Chennai, August 2005

Listen to Amma's divine message in Her own voice! (in Tamil)

(Our Guruji Amma is the embodiment of simplicity (saulabhyam) has been doing Sathsangam in all possible ways amidst her household chores to the mankind on whole and was thus rendering a sathsangam to a devotee of overseas on phone)

It is fortunate to listen and be blessed to Guruji Amma’s Sathsangam through phone irrespective of one’s domicile in any nook and corner of this universe and many more souls should yearn to enjoy this bliss! Since people are easily tempted to the uncivilized activities and are trapped in the web of movies, television programmes and some unpleasant magazines, more and more Sathsangams should be encouraged and attended to keep oneself engaged in the union of the Almighty, which is the only eternal truth. Just as hills are made of hard stones alone and its originality cannot be replaced, likewise Bhagawaan is the eternal truth and at a stage each one realizes this truth. Its no compulsion and even those who have disassociated will realize this truth. Such is the greatness of Bhakthi and Naamasankeerthana. Since, Naamasankeerthana is the Kali Yuga Dharma, there is no match to it. Radhekrishna!

2. Mahatmas - New Bhaktacharitras Each Month

India is the holy land with so many bhaktas (devotees). When we go through the Indian history, there must be a bhakta in every period. That is the greatness of this sacred land. Bhaktas are the role model for all the bonded souls. They enjoy their life in a perfect way. Bhaktas surrender themselves to the Lotus feet of Lord. By hearing or reading bhaktas' divine story, the bonded soul is enlightened to come out of the worldwide bondages.

Radhekrishna! Sincere chanting and listening to the great stories of devotees will surely give a peace of mind to everybody, even in this 21st century. So many people think that listening to the devotee's stories is a waste of time and there is no benefit at all. If somebody wants to realize the power of bagawan, first of all they must listen bhaktha charithram [stories of devotees]. There are so many advantages in listening to baktha charithram.

Radhekrishna! Lord Vishnu, the consort of Goddess Lakshmi, has Himself shown different ways for the souls to be most happy.  We have come across of these ways, in our Holy Scriptures and history. Only those who lead a life as per the wish of Bhagawaan, can enjoy the purpose of human life.  Bhagawaan advises us to lead a life in the supreme way.  Supreme way of life means, to lead a life full of peace and contentment and be blessed with the divine sight of Bhagawaan. One has to lead such a life to be blessed with His divine sight. Whatever may be the activity (Karma), whether charity, meditation or namajapam, the purpose, the ultimate aim of the human life should be to have the divine sight of Bhagawaan. Bhagawaan is full of mercy. One can never experience such a bountiful of mercy anywhere else in the universe. The mercy is such that He bestows upon Himself to the true devotees for the devotion we show towards him. To experience such a mercy, serving His devotees is the way out and Bhagawaan Himself is pleased with it.  Bhagawaan should get such a pleasure. Neelan was doing such activities that made Bhagawaan happy and pleased.

The wealth showered by Lord Varadarajan, the presiding deity of Kancheepuram, were completely exhausted. The prize money given by the king also were spent for the kainkaryam of Thadhi Aaradhanai(offering of food to 1008 Shri Vaishnavas daily). Though, Neelan was penniless, was determined to continue the offering of food to Shri Vaishnavas.  Neelan experienced happiness in offering food to the Shri Vaishnavas. In the human life, it is very difficult to satisfy the people immersed in the worldly pleasures.  Be it in any way, any matter, the people will always point out the mistakes and at times on the very same people who did good deeds to them.  However, the devotees and Bhagawaan accept everything if offered to them with true devotion and love, and in return bless us with the supreme happiness. The devotees do not have any interest in the worldly pleasures, whereas they are pleased with our true love on them. The Shri Vaishnavas were impressed by the true love of Neelan and hence gathered in big numbers to continue performing the Thadhi Aaradhanai. They blessed Neelan with full contentment.  Neelan did not expect returns for such kainkarayam.

In the worldly life people donate food, make charities, offerings etc., only for their own well being, to rinse off the sins, to gain Punya or else for self publicity and do not perform as done by the devotees with true devotion.  In these days, lot of oblations, charities, donating of food are being made just for their own pride. Such pride will only lead to unhappiness and grief as ego and arrogance will dwell upon and hence at one stage will leave all these .Such a feeling never affected Neelan.  However, he was doing his kainkaryam with immense pleasure. Neelan was very happy to notice the mark of satisfaction on the faces of the Shri Vaishnavas and it is true that such wholehearted satisfaction can be seen only with the true devotees and the true preceptors (sathgurus).  In the ordinary life, people  just cheat and only pose to be of satisfied with a false smile until the needful is sought upon and later talk low of the very same person.  However, the true devotees are not like so and one cannot express it with mere words.  It is said that even the AadhiSeshan  with his 1000 tongues cannot completely speak the praises of the greatness of  such devotees. Neelan started to be a great devotee as Shri Vaishnavas gathered in large numbers daily.  He derived immense joy as he noticed the happiness of the devotees. Neelan experienced the supreme joy in the happiness of the Shri Vaishnavas just like a mother who gets immense pleasure while seeing her child happy, Radhekrishna!

Neelan, thus enjoyed the happiness in offering food to Shri Vaishnavas but, he started worrying himself for not having sufficient wealth to continue the Thadhi Aaraadhanai without any hurdle. He summoned his ministers for consultation, who also were fond of the devotees. In the same way, the near and dear ones should be of supreme natured and there will not be any sorrow or pains.  In the worldly life, the reason for miseries and sorrow is only due to bad company. If one associates himself with devotees will never experience such miseries. People are attracted towards bad company and disassociate the true devotees. The so-called pleasure in bad company later when realised to be of bitter, can be neither gulped in, spat out nor can be digested. The association of devotees initially appears to be bitter, which is not so. Truly speaking, the divine nectar in their mind considered to be of bitter, is not so in the real sense. Sathgurus feed the souls with the divine nectar, but they presume it to be as bitter with a wrong notion which in reality is not so. Radhekrishna. So, one should be involved always in Sathsangam.

Neelan had devotion in Sathsangam and the ministers too were of like-minded and consulted with them. They arrived at a decision of looting for amassing wealth for Thadhi Aaraadhanai. Neelan did not agree to the proposal and considered it as a great sin to do so. However, the ministers suggested to spare hard working people and the supreme souls and proposed to loot only the misers who owned the bad earned wealth to prolong the Thadhi Aaraadhanai. As the wealth earned wrongly was not spared for charities and good cause, he considered it faulty, and hence suggested to loot from the misers. He further vowed not to loot from the poor, hard working people and the supreme souls. Neelan perceived some sense in the suggestion. Though his mind was oscillating, since there was no other alternative and had to accept the suggestion. This however need not be considered as, principle of Communists that is only for namesake. The principle of Neelan was not of that kind and all for the purpose of devotion, kainkaryam for the devotees and for the noblest one. Since, it was for the livelihood of the supreme souls and the true devotees he agreed. Neelan with his army hid out in the forest, looted only the misers and ill-gotten wealth to continue the kainkaryam of Thadhi Aaradhanai. What a great surprising note!  Another remarkable feature was, Neelan did not use even a single penny from the wealth looted for his own comforts. He looted the wealth with the only intention to perform the kaingaryam of Thadhi Aaradhanai.  Hare Krishna!  Hare Krishna!  So do not form a wrong opinion about Neelan.  Only after knowing the full history of Neelan one can understand his greatness. Let us wait until the next issue of Vedhanadhan to know more about this exhilarating devotee, Neelan and his greatness. Radhekrishna!

3. Krishnam Vande Jagadhgurum - Extracts From The Holy Bhagawath Geetha

Radhekrishna.Hinduism is an ancient religion. All the things that have been spoken in Hindu religion can be applied in practical life. Although in 21st century till everyone can apply this in his or her daily life. The aim of Hindu religion is to provide total happiness to everyone at all times (or any point of time). The essence of Hinduism is told in "Bhagawad Gita". In order to realize what is said in Bhagawad Gita it is a compulsory (must) to have an unconditional faith on Bhagawad Gita. So many people have benefited in their lives because of the (by reading) shlokas of Bhagawad Gita. In Bhagawad Gita, Bhagawan Shri Krishna has told the way to lead a happy life in such an easy way that even a normal layman can easily understand. The slokas are so simple that anyone can understand and use it practically.

Gurujiamma and Guruji

YathkarOshi yadhashnaasi YajjuhOshi dhadhaasi Yath!
Yaththapasyasi Kountheya! Thathkurushva madharpanam!

Radhekrishna! The meaning of the life is, to comply with the desires of God. One might be wondering that can the omnipotent, God too, might be having any desires. Unlike the ordinary human beings, the Almighty’s desires are not self-centred. It is the ordinary soul’s intention and desire to achieve, enjoy and win as per their wishes. The Almighty’s only desire is that, every soul should always be happy without any complication. One gets the opportunity and eligibility to fulfil the God’s desire only in the human life. What a blessed human life! Hence, having blessed the Supreme human life, we should try to know His desires to lead the life that would make Him happy. When one understands this message of the Almighty, will certainly succeed in the blessed human life. Each one tries and toils to succeed to fulfil their desire while forgets to understand God’s desire and His happiness and fails to make effort to realize it. This is a bitter-truth. Bhagawaan’s opinion, desire and expectation in entirety are, Shrimadh Bhagawad Geeta.

These subjects are magnificently referred in our holy epics, scriptures and history and the same is summarised as the essence of the Bhagawath Geeta as told by Bhagawaan Sri Krishna. Bhagawaan has very beautifully cited and most specifically, we do no know as to how long the explanation for this Sloka will continue. It is not difficult to complete at a quick pace, but to know the real philosophy and the secret to practice in the daily life, and also to enjoy the supreme bliss in the human life, is the main motto and hence each sloka is vividly explained.  This detailed explanation is for the happiness of the souls. There is so much to explain, yes, so much greatness lies in this world. Therefore, one should try to understand the meaning of this sloka and read them repeatedly. The explanations of this sloka given in the previous issues should be read repeatedly. Only then, one can understand the real strength of this sloka.  The Omnipotent, Lord, Krishna and the secret of this sloka both are insurmountable. Krishna Hare!  Hare! Hare! Radhekrishna!

Bhagawaan beautifully renders this sloka. First, He told, “YathkarOshi”, the act we perform. Next “YadhasHnaasi”, whatever we take as food. Thirdly, He says “YajjuhOshi”, meaning, what you perform as oblations (homam). Homam means to light fire, to offer some ritualistic materials in the fire and chant holy Vedha mantras to acquire certain benefits.  Oblations will benefit all and is a unique one. In today’s world, particularly atheist and those who do not know anything about Hindu Dharma are talking ill of the oblations. They do not understand of this sinful act. They sarcastically comment upon the offering of ghee, cooked rice, small dried wooden sticks (Samithu) etc., in the oblation fire in accordance with the nature of Homam.  It is very easy to comment. Only when it is performed with true devotion and bhakti the benefit is derived and only then, they will understand the importance and truth of such oblations.  Therefore, these are not lies and cheats. One should understand this fact. There is no necessity in Hindu Dharma to cheat any one, or to lie of a non-existence as existent or mesmerize them.

Hindu Dharma shows the path to lead the practical human life.  Hindu Dharma preaches easiest, real and an easy to follow pattern by everyone.  So, those who argue for the sake of mere argument may keep continuing the same as it is their habit. It is not a great achievement to talk ill of others and finding faults with others. Let them try to prove that there is no good effect of performing such oblations. Certainly impossible. Let any number of atheists speak adversely on any number of platforms to decline about it. Definitely, they will not succeed since they will never ever be able to prove it. Is it ever possible to say by anybody that he can block the sun or stop its rays from falling on him? May be, he can avoid it and sit inside a dark room while he cannot even stop the sunrise. Hence, if one challenges to prove or talk against the Sanathana Hindu Dharma by calling it is a humbug then definitely they will be laughed upon, since they are in such a miserable condition for their inability to understand its greatness. Why should one trouble and pray for, to prove the truth as untruth while it would be peaceful if they agree to accept the truth as it is. Therefore, the several oblations recommended according to our Sanathana Hindu Dharma are all extraordinary. Bhagawaan Himself says, of the several oblations, whichever oblation is performed, is to be offered to Him. Hence, everyone should determinedly believe that the oblations are all factual.

There is a lot of description for this particular word itself that would be continued in the forthcoming month.

Radhekrishna...

4. The Divine Songs - Dhivyaprabhandham

Naalaayira Dhivyaprabandham

kaNtaar ikazhvanavE kaadhalanthaan seythidinum;

      koNdaanai allaal aRiyaak kulamakaLpOl;

vinthOy madhiLpudaisuzh viththuvakkottu Ammaa! nee

koNdaaLaayaakilum unkuraikazhalE kooRuvanE.

(Kulasekara  Aazhwar’s Perumaal Thirumozhi  - 689/1000/4000)

Explanation

Radhekrishna! One should have enormous faith on God. The belief that we pose on Him alone, will show us the proper path to lead our lives. Only those who lead and experience a supreme way of life are the fortunate ones. Bhagawaan Himself has distinguished in His description in the scriptures, the different ways of leading a supreme life. One can command respect only when he adheres to his conventional way of life. For instance, a lion or a dog has to live in its temperament accordingly, on the contrary they would not get due respect and will end in trouble. Many of us lead a life, but the same will be considered supreme, only when one leads it for the purpose of devotion. Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar expresses his devotion in the above paasuram. He desires to settle in the supreme state of devotion and expresses it in different ways to the presiding deity of Viththuvakkodu, a dhivyadesam. One should have the complete faith on only one deity. If a person changes his mind from one deity to another, day after day, then he will not be able to concentrate and experience the supreme devotion towards the Almighty. They will not attain the purpose of their human life. Therefore, one has to completely surrender to only one deity. After surrendering to the lotus feet of only one deity, even if one suffers mishaps due to the past deeds of previous birth, desires or wrong thoughts should not blame the Almighty, instead should have unlimited faith and cling to HIM firmly. This alone would be the supreme trait of devotion. Only those who have such a complete faith on the Almighty experience ‘Paramapurushaartham’, the wholesome bliss of Bhagawaan and serve the purpose of human birth. Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar has rendered 10 paasurams on his complete faith on the presiding deity of the Viththuvakkodu, the above one being the second paasuram.

A virtuous wife will always be in the shade of her husband even if her husband’s conduct is ill mannered and draws complaints from everyone.

Kulashekara Azhwaar

kaNtaar ikazhvanavE kaadhalanthaan seythidinum

The husband does not perform any worthy activities except the misdeeds that the people always keep nagging. He does not attend to his family’s needs, look after his wife’s needs, is worried neither about his generation’s status nor about the future of his children. There are many such men. He keeps doing everything in a haphazard way, troubling everybody in his anger and always thinks that his pleasure is the prominent above all things. He gambles, drinks alcohol, has illicit relationship with other women, remains lazy or cheats others for his survival. There are men with such different wicked and immoral qualities. People known, unknown and even a stranger to him speak ill about him due his character. The people talk all about the husband not even behind the wife but to her directly. In spite of listening to all the unpleasant words about her husband, she never lets down his image or his self-respect, only for the reason that, he is her husband. She lives her life with him in spite of several hardships hoping that he would surely change and become a good person some day. She hopes that some day she and her family also will be happy and peaceful. Even if he beats her, talks or treats her cruelly, the virtuous wife never falls down from her unshakable belief over her husband. Here, Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar pleads to God that, He must save him and incase, He lets him down will surrender to His lotus feet adorned with anklets jingling the melodious music. Further, Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar reveal that under any circumstances, shall not leave the Almighty, as a virtuous wife will not abandon her husband, whatever may be the reason. One should have this unconditional faith on Bhagawaam in their life to experience the supreme happiness. One should not lose faith and change the Guru, Bhagawaan and the Naamasankeertanam just because one happens to undergo sufferings. They should not change their mind every now and then and wander all over just as a stray dog loafs, due to which they fail to attain and experience the supreme knowledge and the supreme bliss. Changing the Guru, deity and wandering here and there under the influence of people to seek devotion frequently, equates to the profession of prostitution according to the elders. It may be difficult to accept these words but the elders rightly advise to stick tightly to one deity and should not forsake Him at any situation. Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar pleads to the presiding deity of Viththuvakkodu that he shall not abandon Him and his incredible lotus feet adorned with the anklets jingling with musical sound, just as the virtuous wife will not desert her husband even if he is ill mannered. One should attain this steadfast determination.

Goddess Sita had such an unconditional faith. Though she was separated from Lord Rama her consort, and was under the detention of wicked Ravana in the Ashoka vanam, she could persistently meditate Lord Rama alone and nothing else. The ever charming Lord Krishna, who came to play Rasakridai with the Gopis, vanished in the forest of Brinadavanam when He was about to start the Rasakridai due to the pride of their beauty. Even at that stage, the Gopis were in His thought alone, talking all about Him, enacting His Leelas, singing His glory forgot their homes and relatives as they had totally given themselves to Sri Krishna. Therefore, Lord Krishna appeared once again and performed the Supreme Rasakridai with the Gopis. At any situation, we should not leave Bhagawaan Sri Krishna. If one happens to part Him, then it will not be considered as Bhakthi. One should have steadfast unconditional Bhakthi. Bhaktha Prahladha was troubled by his father himself at several occasions in different ways. However, he never lost faith on His Lord Sri Narayanan and Bhakthi. It did not even strike him to think so. Hence, it remains in the history of Bhaktha Prahladha that he won in doing his Bhakthi. Similarly, many illustrations can be given about the Bhakthass and their unconditional faith on Bhagawaan. Kuntidevi, the paternal aunt of Lord Krishna was always doing Krishanbhakthi alone. She too faced several hurdles, and yet never stopped doing the Krishnabhakthi. The Krishnabhakti alone saved her and gave her all the happiness. Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar also determinedly says that he will also hold tightly the lotus feet of the presiding deity of Viththuvakkodu. In the same manner, as long as each one of you  cling to the Almighty and the Sathguru’s feet determinedly are assured of all the goodness for your well-being.

These divine paasurams are being rendered to come out of the imaginary bhakthi and to enjoy and experience the real bhakthi. In the forthcoming month, we shall be enjoying the next paasuram of how Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar clinged to the Almighty’s feet in doing Bhakthi unwaveringly.

5. Spring Of Spiritual Showers - Experiences Of Bhaktas, Disciples Of Poojyashree Shree Amma, Our Gurujiamma

An experience of a disciple in his own words

Jai Shree Poojyashree Shree Amma

Poojyashri Shri Amma

I would like to share my recent experience I had, after following Guruji Amma's advice. As usual, I went to take darshan of Guruji Amma. Guruji Amma suggested me to apply Kumkum in an upward direction so that my life and career progresses towards high. I took up Amma's Suggestion. It so happened that I got a call from a leading multinational company to attend their interview. As usual, I prepared myself well and did not forget Amma's Suggestion to me about applying the Kumkum.

I was informed that more than 5000 candidates had applied for the post and the interview panel moved from one region to another across the country.  The intimation for interview was received from Bangalore . The interview panel initially short listed 870 candidates and in the first round of interview, held on 6th June, 2005 , 122 candidates were declared successful which was ultimately curtailed to 15 at the end of third round.  The interview process included of testing, competence of Human resource skill, technical aptitude etc., and the interview was conducted over telephone too and in the third round held on 23rd June, 2005 , the interviewer had called from United States of America which lasted for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

After clearing these three rounds without any hiccups finally, the technical round came, which fears me every time when I give an interview. I had immense faith on bhagwan as he was the one who propelled me so far with Guruji Amma's and Guruji's grace. Finally, three candidates including me were called for the final interview out of which one who was aware of his incapacity to compete walked off, we were only two candidates, and I learnt that only one of us had to be selected by the interviewer. I prepared myself mentally that it was all over for me. However, I still had belief on Guruji Amma and Guruji. The interview went good but never did I have a cutting edge over my competitor to be favourite for the job. Suddenly, the interviewer who was an Anglo-Indian, asked me about the Kumkum, as to why I had applied it and whether I feared a lot for this interview. Actually, this came to me as a surprise and it really brought me some relaxation as I was very well crippling and succumbing to pressure. Radhekrishna!

This gave me an opportunity to speak about Guruji Amma and her mission, to spread Krishna Consciousness. I told him everything about Guruji Amma and Guruji’s activities. I also provided him the information about the regular satsangs and bhajans that is being conducted every day across different parts of India and the World. In fact, I had sung one of Guruji Amma’s Krishna Bhajans whole-heartedly praying, Krishna , Krishna ...within myself, which paved way for opening the doors of success clearing all the doubts and confusions. He suddenly asked me that why don’t you explain me one of the bhajans as that is the only thing that stands as an obstacle between you and this job. Wow!!!!!!!! I thought. At this juncture, I thought of Guruji Amma in my mind, went ahead and explained the ‘meaning of the song that I had sung, which goes as under’:

Requesting Lord Krishna, to come and give His Divine Darshan to rescue this destitute, without letting me down as I have come unto your Lotus feet for help.

Never in my dreams had I thought about this way of being interviewed. It is all the grace of Bhagwan and Guruji Amma that helped me to explain him the meaning of the bhajan. He was more than happy to inform me that I was selected and told me that I would be informed about my date of joining within a fortnight. All this has happened only because of Amma's and Guruji's Grace. May be, one of their ways to make me realize the Mahimai of namajapam!!!!!

With Guruji Amma’s blessings, the embodiment of mercy, I shall be taking up the new assignment very soon. In today’s fierce competitive world, I could not have achieved this success on my own and it has come to me only due to Amma’s immense grace.

Radhekrishna!!!!!

6. Samarpanam

parithraanaaya sadhoonaam vinasaya cha dhushkrutham

dharma sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge

Bhagawan takes avatar in each and every yuga mainly to safeguard the bhaktas and then to destroy the rakshasaas who trouble his bhaktas. So Bhagawan comes to this bhoomi from paramapadham just for the sake of his bhaktas. Hence we come to know that bhaktas are very important to the Lord. Whenever Bhagawan comes to rescue his bhaktas, the other fellow people also reap the benefits.........

Our guruji amma gives high respect to all the bhaktas. Hence our Vedhanaadham's every issue will be dedicated to one bhakta. This issue we are dedicating to one of the greatest and most fortunate mother in the world namely "Devaki"

8. Sathsangam News - Information About The Sathsang Activities Like Forthcoming Pravachans And Programmes

divine eyes that guard us continuously

Sathsangam Programmes held at various places last month

Mahan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar continued the discourse on 'Perumaal Thirumozhi' rendered by Sri Kulasekhara Aazhwaar at Dhanushkodi Kodhandaraamar Temple , Chrompet, Chennai-44, on His return from Bangalore . The devotees are enjoying the same at present and have requested Him for an extended period to enjoy more of His discourses. Seeing their eagerness and response, Mahan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar has heeded to their request.

Mahaan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar delivered the discourse on Krishna Karnaamrutham at  Malleswaram, Bangalore from 15th July, 2005 to 22nd July, 2005 for a period of 8 days. He enthralled one and all in His unique way while describing the pranks of Lord Krishna. While describing the enchanting eyes of Lord Krishna, He put forth everything in the 'Bhaavam' of Yashodha, Gopikaas,Radhaa Rani, Gopas, Nandagopar, Balarama etc.

Every devotee who was present experienced and enjoyed the divinity. He also elaborately narrated the beauty of Lord Krishna's eyes while he played the melodious music on the flute, peeping his head out of Yashoda's saree when fed milk, making signs to Gopis without the knowledge of other gopis and gopas, bending down by keeping his both hands on the knees and giving a watchful look before stealing butter and requesting gopi not to complain innocently in His eye-language. In the discourse hall, when some devotees were spellbound, some were listening with joyful tears throughout, while some others instantly responded to His narration without their knowledge. Right from the kids to the aged people everyone enjoyed the discourse to its fullest and longed to have for more days.

Mahan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar thus won the hearts of every soul that was longing to listen such a marvellous discourse and many devotees requested Him to bless them by visiting their places. During His stay at Bangalore, regular sathsangams were held even in the morning right from 7.00 a.m.  He yielded to every one's request and accommodated them despite His busy schedule as per the convenience of the devotees. He delivered discourses on Panduranga Mahimai, on the occasion of Ashadha Ekadashi. He also rendered discourses on Guru Mahima on the occasion of Guru Purnima and  Sri Aalavandhar’s Thirunakshathram which coincided on 21st July, 2005. He lucidly spelt out the need of a Sathguru in one's life to know the real purpose of human life,

which the devotees enjoyed, with tears of joy in their eyes.

Overall, the devotees experienced the presence of the Omnipotent and felt to be blessed upon by Lord Krishna and H.H. Poojya Shree Shree Amma to hear such a devotional discourse by Mahan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar.

Mahan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar along with some of His devotees visited Melukottai Thrirunarayanapuram, Abhimaana Sthalam on 20th July, 2005.The devotees who were blessed to accompany Him experienced the difference in worshipping the deities of the temples in His presence.

Guru Purnima the foremost of all the festivals was celebrated on 21st July, 2005 by the Radhe Krishna Sathsangam devotees in a grand manner at Chennai, Dombivli (Mumbai), United States of America and Campala (Uganda).  This day is celebrated paying tributes to the Sathguru who removes the ignorance and enlightens us to lead a happy and contented human life. There is nothing in this universe, which can be offered as a repayment of debt to a sathguru who is determined in making us to realize the Almighty within us.  A true disciple should praise and spread the glory of the Sathguru and the day should be celebrated in HIS thought to accomplish the purpose of human life. Many of the Mumbai and Bangalore devotees were blessed to get the ‘Sripadhodhakam’ of Mahan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar on this auspicious day of Guru Purnima.

Radhekrishna Sathsangam devotees on this memorable day celebrated with special bhajans and paid tributes to H.H. Poojya Shree Shree Amma and Mahaan Brahmashri Gopalavallidasar.

Special bhajans are being held at various places in Chennai on all the ‘Aadi’ Fridays.

Weekly bhajans and Nagara sankeerthanam are also being held regularly.
